Three Users Sue Facebook For Scraping Of Text Message And Call Data
2018 has left the everyone wondering why Facebook allowed Cambridge Analytica to access data of over 50 million users. I'm still wondering why they gave developers so much data.

3 users have sued Facebook, arguing that it violated their privacy by collecting records of their phone calls and text messages in the latest legal battle facing the company.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Northern District of California, seeks collective action status on behalf of all affected Facebook users and claims for unspecified damages.

Facebook Inc. is offering its users greater control over their privacy by adding more controls, to privacy the firm said on Wednesday in response to the scandal over the alleged use of information by millions of people for a political consultancy.

Facebook had acknowledged on Sunday that it recorded the call history of some members of the social network but said that it only did when users of the Android operating system accepted or given permission. They also said that it does not collect the content of calls or text messages and that the information is stored securely and not sold to third parties.
