Photos: Man Has Almost Every Bone In His Face Broken In Attack By 'Gang Of Schoolboys'
Shocking pictures show the aftermath of a horror attack which left a young man with almost every bone in his body broken.
The victim, named Jason, said a group of teenagers attacked him and his friend while shouting “homophobic abuse and bad language”.
The 24-year-old suffered a fractured eye socket, cheekbone and jaw as a result of the attack in Hull.
It happened at around 10.30pm on Sunday after a night out in the city centre. Both were shocked when their quiet night quickly turned sour.
“We’d just finished having a few drinks around town and went to the takeaway,” Jason said.
“There was homophobic abuse and bad language. The next thing I see is one of my friends being knocked to the floor. He had been punched.”
Jason weighed in to try and help his friend but was knocked out after the attackers, who he estimated were between 13 and 16 years of age, set about him.
Somehow, he managed to lift himself from the floor and walk back to his friend's but the onslaught of abuse didn’t stop there, according to the 24-year-old.
He claims he was then verbally abused again from a passing car.
He said: “As I was walking back to my friends, I was on the phone to the police at the time, a white Ford Focus pulled up and shouted ‘You’ve just attacked my brother, you effing gay f*****. Next time I see you, you’re dead!’"
Despite being able to cope with the pain overnight, Jason had to attend A&E on Monday morning where he was told the extent of his injuries.
He believed he had sustained just swelling and bruising in the attack but doctors revealed that it was more serious.
Jason said: “I had to go for a CT scan and the doctor came back saying I’d broken my nose and my sinuses are blocked.
"The facial surgeon then said I’d broken my eye socket, fractured my cheek bone, had a broken jaw and had swelling in my face.
“The doctor said my jaw needs realigning and I might need surgery on my eye socket.”
