Dino Melaye Give Details Of His Experience In The Custody Of Kidnappers
Senator Dino Melaye has resurfaced as he claims to have escaped over eleven hours of torture in the hands of his kidnappers.
The Kogi West Senator, who took to his Twitter account to make the revelation, also thanked his family members, supporters and Nigerians for their support.
Kidnapped Senator Melaye Is Now Free – Family Sources Confirm
In a developing story surrounding the whereabouts of the lawmaker representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye, a lawyer, Yemi Mohammed, on Thursday, confirmed that senator was attacked at Gwagwalada , Abuja on his way to Lokoja on Wednesday.
Mohammed, who represented Melaye’s lead counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome(SAN), said this at a Senior Magistrate’s Court in Lokoja, Kogi State where Melaye is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and arms dealing.
Court Summons IGP Over Continuous Detention Of Gov. Ahmed’s Aide
The continuous detention of Lekan Alabi, personal assistant to Abdulfattah Ahmed, governor of Kwara has called for the presence of Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police by an High court in Ilorin, Kwara state to justify the continuous detention.
Alabi was arrested in May, in connection to the April 5, 2018 armed robbery attack in Offa.
Saraki, Dogara Must Step Down If They Defect – PSG
Senate President Bukola Saraki and Honourable Speaker Dogara Yakubu have been asked to prepare to step down as soon as they defect from the All Progressives Congress- a move they are believed to be planning.
Despite the defection of some senators and members of the House of Representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), APC senators are insisting on their simple majority, which they believe will soon be more consolidated.
Northern Senator Allegedly Demands 100M To Defect To PDP
A very vocal senator from the north-west is reportedly demanding a prepayment of at least N100 million before he would defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The PDP leadership laughed off his request and this is thought to have stalled his movement to the opposition party on Tuesday.
Defection Of APC NASS Members Won’t Hinder Party’s Progress – Etok
A former member of the Red Chamber, Senator Aloysius Etok, has said the mass defection of his party’s members to the opposition party would not affect the activities or fortunes of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in 2019.
Senator Etok, a chieftain of APC in Akwa Ibom State, said contrary to many opinions that the move would hinder the progress of the party, he assured that the party would win the forthcoming polls and preserve its majority in the National Assembly.
