The Budget Phone Killer : The iTel P32 - Full Review, Unboxing And Price In Nigeria

iTel just released the P32 a couple of weeks back and sent me a review unit  and I wrote a first impressions post about it  -https://www.naijatechguy.com/2018/07/check-out-itel-p32-smartphone.html.

Like most first impression posts I didn't make an in depth review of the device because I needed to spend more time with the phone so I can put up a full proper review.

I also made a full review video of it , Please make sure you hit the subscribe button

O.S , DESIGN AND DISPLAY

The iTel P32 runs on  Android Go 8.1 Oreo. iTel trims down on the bezels a bit and gives the device a metallic finish.  The UI is awesome and I never experienced any lagging on the device thanks to the Android  Go OS.

The colors look beautiful and not over saturated, the white balance is great as well considering the device has a 5.5' display . Like all Android Go smartphones you still have the optimized lightweight Google apps - Maps Go , Gmail Go, YouTube Go , Google Go and my personal favorite Assistant Go.

One more thing that is striking about the display is the fact that iTel decided to opt for an awesome 18:9 aspect ratio display.

I must say it's pretty impressive considering the fact this is a budget smartphone.

Instead of Google play music you have Boomplay instead just like the A32F. Also you can also turn on Night Mode in case your eye hurts or just to prevent eye strain.

There's also a feature in the gallery that let's you lock your pictures and videos. There's also an app that locks your apps as well.

PERFOMANCE

The major thing I'll focus on here is the battery life. The P32 is powered by a 4000mAh non removable battery. The battery lasts for 20 hours on constant use and the only thing I don't really like is the time it takes to go from 0-100% (about 4 hours). I think iTel should take a cue from Infinix on this part and implement the fast charge feature.Apart from that performance is pretty solid.

I watched a 2 hour movie with maximum brightness and only 15% went off the initial battery percentage. The device doesn't over heat so it handles heat very well. However, I must point this out - if you buy the device and it doesn't turn on when you haven't charged it yet just plug it in and let it charge it should power up so there's no need to get scared or worked up about it.

Just like the iTel A32F , The P32 runs on a MediaTek quadcore chipset clocked at 1.3GHz.  It also comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. Although when it comes to the storage space you have just 5GB of space available so it's recommended you get a memory card for this device.

CAMERA

One of the selling points of the iTel P32 is the dual rear camera that is accompanied by a dual LED flash.

The P32 sports a dual 5MP/5MP rear camera alongside a 5MP front camera . The P32 does a really good job of using the most of it's camera's resources.

.

The video quality and camera quality is very high thanks to the dual cameras

As you can see from the screenshots above the picture quality of the front and rear camera is 2560x1920 , video quality is 1920x1088 which is equivalent to a full HD footage. Here are a couple of shots I took on the iTel P32 -

I know the last picture looks a bit creepy but the feature actually comes with the camera inbuilt so there's no need for a third party software -It's one out of hundreds of filters available in the camera.

NETWORK ,BATTERY AND CONNECTIVITY

The phone has a dual SIM slot - Two Micro-SiMs. There's support for WCDMA,HSPDA and GSM.

Coming to the battery , It's  a massive 4000 mah battery and can last up to 3 days on normal use. It takes about 4hrs to get full from 0%. The good part is that the OS it runs on is optimized for both data saving and battery saving so the battery may actually last more than those of other devices with the same capacity running on older android versions.

SECURITY

The fingerprint scanner does a really good job. It has a finger print scanner that unlocks within 0.1 seconds and it's accuracy is top notch. You can add up to five finger prints, so if you wish to add all of your fingers you can do that easily. The fingerprint is combined with the standard security as a secondary layer of security .(PIN, Password, Pattern).

PRICE

For a budget phone , this device costs N26,500.
