Xiaomi Beats Every Brand In The World To Release The First 5G Smartphone (Photo)
When it comes to innovations Xiaomi never let's us down. They kicked off the bezelless display trend and every other smartphone brand followed suit and now it's becoming quite obvious that they'll release a phone that supports 5G Network Band.
Considering the fact that 5G would start rolling out globally from 2019, I feel Xiaomi is looking to solidify their spot as a top of the line smartphone choice for many smartphone users.
However, in Nigeria we know how network operators work, our 4G speed can be termed 3G in most cases. I've actually gotting a whopping speed of 3.7kb/s on a supposed 4G network. Yes, I know that line reeks of sarcasm but it's the painful truth.
Donovan Sung, the global spokesperson of Xiaomi has now posted a new image of the Mi Mix 3 (launches by October) , which reveals the 5G network support. The image was shot at a 5G network testing location in China has the Mi Mix 3 handset with no bezel on the top and a small chin. As you can clearly see in the image, the mobile data signal shows ‘5G+’ meaning that the device will have support for 5G, possibly the first device to release with fifth-generation wireless network support.
Xiaomi has also followed Oppo's cue with the placement of the front-facing camera and a speaker.
Xiaomi already launched four devices with Snapdragon 845 SoC- the Mi Mix 2S, Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and the Poco F1. The Mi Mix 3 could be the fifth device from Xiaomi to house the Snapdragon 845 chipset on board. However, to achieve 5G support, Xiaomi might choose the Snapdragon X50 5G modem, which Qualcomm is said to launch in the coming months.
