Elle under fire for fake Kim and Kanye breakup tweet
Elle magazine provoked backlash by tweeting a link to a fake story with the headline “Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are splitting up,” that instead led to a page encouraging voter registration.
Some weren’t happy with the bait-and-switch.
“This is trash nonsense,” wrote “Bad Feminist” author Roxane Gay. “Who do you think you are reaching with this? Guess what? One can be civic minded and interested in celebrity gossip.”
