Google acquired Tenor — a popular GIF search engine
Google acquired Tenor — a popular GIF search engine that has a vast database of animated images that sees over 12 billion searches a month, the company claims. It’s worth noting that Facebook also uses this platform to let users easily search and share animated GIFs in Messenger.
Tenor’s acquisition by Google will bring about improvements for all Google products including Google image search. It has been said that Tenor will keep running as a separate brand under Google. There will be more animated GIFs in the future for you to share irrespective that you use the keyboard or any of the Google mobile apps.
