My Marriage To Kim Kardashian Was Real, But Very Brutal, Kris Humphries Breaks Silence

Eight years after divorcing Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries has spoken out about their marriage.

Being married to reality star Kim Kardashian was 'brutal' but '100% real', according to Kris Humphries.

In a lengthy essay for The Player's Tribune, the 34-year-old former NBA star opened up about his time with Kim - and has looked to dispel rumours about the validity of their romance.

He divorced the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star in 2011 after just 72 days of marriage.
Some eight years after the couple split, there is still feeling their relationship was 'fake'.

But Kris has described the relationship as 'brutal' as they had to live out everything in the public eye.

Kris and Kim had a whirlwind romance, getting engaged after just seven months of dating.

After their typically lavish Kardashian wedding, they split up soon after and set off on the path of a bitter divorce.

Kris has claimed that his relationship with Kim eventually ruined his chances of 'being recognised as a basketball player', with crowds turning on him due to his reality TV status.

Speaking about his time in the midst of Kardashian family life, Kris admitted: "I should have known what I was getting into. I was definitely naive about how much my life was going to change."

He also addressed the naysayers who slammed his relationship with Kim and called it out for not being 'real'.

Kris continued: "The one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say my marriage was fake. There’s definitely a lot about that world that is not entirely real.

"But our actual relationship was 100% real. When it was clear that it wasn’t working... what can I say? It sucked."

Kris looked to get his marriage to Kim annulled in December 2011 but it took until June 2013 before the divorce was finalised.

Kris claims this battle really affected his career.
